How does the fountain get my cat to drink more?
Cats are drawn to moving water because in the wild it signals a fresh, safe source, which is why yours heads for the shower tray or a dripping tap. The FlowPet fountain circulates the water gently and continuously, so it looks and sounds like a garden stream rather than a still bowl. That movement tempts her back to her own water station, and most owners notice their cat drinking more within the first few days.
Is the pump loud at night?
No. The pump runs on a whisper-quiet motor designed to sit in a kitchen or hallway without keeping you up. You will hear a soft trickle of water rather than a mechanical hum, and many owners run it a room or two from where they sleep with no issue. If it ever runs noisier than expected, it usually just needs a quick rinse of the pump, which takes a minute.
How often do I change the filters and what does the mat do?
Each filter lasts roughly two to four weeks depending on how much your cat drinks, and this set includes six of them, so you are covered for months without reordering. The filters trap the fur, dust and grit that create that greasy film on a standing bowl. The anti-splash mat sits under the fountain and catches the drips and paw-flicks, so you stop stepping in puddles by the fridge in your socks.
Will this really help her hydration and her vet check-ups?
When a cat drinks more steadily through the day, she stays better hydrated, which supports her kidneys and overall health. Many owners report that once their cat took to the fountain, the vet noted an improvement at the next check. It works by making fresh, filtered, moving water the easiest and most appealing option in the house, so she drinks more without you having to coax her.
Is it easy to clean and set up?
Yes. The fountain comes apart in a few pieces that rinse under the tap, and you drop a new filter in when the old one is due. Setup is filling the reservoir, plugging it in and letting the water start circulating, which takes a couple of minutes. The mat wipes clean, so the whole station stays tidy without becoming another chore on your list.
What if it doesn't work for my cat?
You are covered by a 30-day risk-free trial. Set the fountain up at home, give your cat time to take to it, and see whether her drinking improves. If you are not happy for any reason, contact us within 30 days for a refund. We want you to feel like the owner who finally got the water sorted, not one who gambled on it.
